Of course, it is not realistic to have the Mind to be achieved such ability within a day or two. In fact, it takes time, efforts & patience too. But, it is possible.

Mindfulness is always Mind Centric that can help the Mind to be aware of overthinking:

Mindfulness Ia always Mind centric. The Mind is totally aware of itself, what is happening in the Mind at this moment. No matter what is happening in the Mind, the Mind is very aware of itself. If thoughts are arising, the Mind is aware of thoughts which are arising. If feelings are arising, the Mind is aware that feelings re arising, if emotions are arising in the Mind, the Mind is aware that emotions are arising. Feelings. If Emotions arise, the Mind is also aware that emotions are arising. Everything is under awareness of the Mind that applies to be aware of, no matter what is happening or occurring in the Mind at this Present Moment.

Thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc., all arise in the Mind. As they arise in the Mind in the Present Moment. As Mindfulness is the Mind centric, that means the Mind is totally aware of what is happening at this present moment. Being Mind centric, the Mind always aware of its own movement in the Present Moment. This ability only be able to cultivate or develop in the Mind through Meditation or Yoga or some kind of Mind training. As the ability of Mindfulness, the Mind is always keeping to continue to focus inside itself so that the Mind can understand itself.

Being Mind centric in Mindfulness, the Mind keep remain itself aware of itself. Every movement of the Mind, such harness follow the Mind. No matter the Mind wanders in the past or in the future or even wandering in the present, awareness follow the Mind. As a result, the Mind can understand its existing position by being aware of itself through awareness.

Aware of thoughts can reduce overthinking in Mindfulness:

The Mind only become Mindfulness when it develops or cultivates its own ability to be aware of itself in the Present Moment. Being able to be aware, the Mind is always aware of its own movement no matter what happens or arises or occurs at this Present Moment. If no awareness is there, the Mind can’t be able to be aware of itself too.

As the Mind has the ability to be aware, the Mind is aware of what is happening in the Mind, where is the position of the Mind, etc. As thoughts are arising, that means, they are also under awareness of the Mind too. Being able to be aware of thoughts, the Mind can observe thoughts & movement of thoughts.

Overthinking happens when the Mind generates excessive or huge number of thoughts. In fact, in such case of overthinking, the Mind is not is awareness or less aware of thoughts. O, the Mind starts to engage with thoughts. In lack of awareness or no awareness, the Mind can’t understand the Mind is not able to understand the true or real nature of thoughts. When the Mind aware of thoughts by being the ability of such awareness in Mindfulness, the Mind can attentively observe thoughts and can understand the real nature of thoughts.

As the Mind is totally aware of thoughts & its movement from the arising to disappearing, awareness always follow thoughts. When thoughts are under awareness of the Mind, the Mind naturally be aware to of such overthinking and starts to create less thoughts. Slowly & gradually, thoughts become more & less, thus, overthink of the Mind by itself get reduced.

The Mind observes thoughts without any judgement in Mindfulness that reduce overthinking:

In fact, over thinking always occurs when the Mind is not aware of all thoughts which are occurring at this Present Moment. It happens mostly in the unconscious state of the Mind. That means the Mind is not aware at all what is happening at this moment. As the Mind is not aware, such thoughts starts to arise one after one, whether the Mind itself want or not. When awareness is there in the Mind, thoughts are under awareness like all other things which are being created by the Mind itself at this Present Moment.

In Mindfulness, the Mind has also the ability to observe anything by being aware of it. As thoughts are arising at this Present Moment, the Mind become aware of that thoughts are arising. If thoughts are disappearing, the Mind is also aware that that thoughts are disappearing. As the Mind is aware of total movement of thoughts from arising to disappearing, the Mind can observe total movement of thoughts without any judgement. In such case, the Mind is absolutely free to observe. No engagement or no active involvement with thoughts.

By observing thoughts without any judgement, the Mind can understand that thoughts arise in the Mind, and they also disappear in the Mind too. If no judgement over thoughts, thoughts can’t get the Mind to engage with them, and they are totally inactive with inherently powerless. Thoughts only get active & powerful when the Mind judge over them & get actively engage with thoughts.

Due to no engagement of the Mind with thoughts by judgement, thoughts naturally disappear in the Mind after a while of arising. The Mind acts like a guard of its own creations. Thus, slowly & gradually, the Mind naturally starts to reduce thoughts. Once thoughts starts to reduce, overthinking is also going to reduce.

Mind doesn’t fight with thoughts can reduce overthinking:

When the Mind starts to do self argument by getting engagement with thoughts, that means the Mind starts to analyzing thoughts. In fact, the Mind actively involve itself with thoughts. Thoughts become active to get the Mind more engage to analyze & judge over them. This is like fighting with thoughts. As for example, why this happened? What are the reasons for this? Why it is occurring? The Mind starts to keep continue chattering & fighting with thoughts. All this situation happens while the Mind is not in Mindfulness.

If the Mind starts to fight with thoughts, more & more thoughts unconsciously starts to generate from the same Mind, and it continues to move on. Thought starts to arise in the Mind one after one. It is like a chain form. No awareness of the Mind is there. The Mind unconsciously put itself in the trap of thoughts. In such situation, it is very hard for the Mind to break the circle of thoughts. As a result, the Mind starts to face distraction of overthinking.

While the Mind is in Mindfulness, that means the Mind has the ability to be aware of everything and also aware of itself like its own movement and has also the ability to observe everything like thoughts, overthinking, feelings, emotions, etc. Due to awareness & observation without judgement, in fact, the Mind can understand itself as well understand the creation like thoughts, overthinking, feelings, emotions, etc., too and can also be able to understand or discover the true nature of its own creations.

As the Mind can understand the root of overthinking which is engagement of thoughts unconsciously & starts to judge them, the keep itself only be aware & observe overthinking that is continuous thoughts without any judgement. Eventually, thought process naturally slow down and overthinking starts to reduce naturally with the abilities that leaded in Mindfulness.

The Mind never insist the natural flow of thoughts in Mindfulness that can naturally reduce overthinking:

In fact, Average Mind has always tendency to stop overthinking by fighting with thoughts or replacing thoughts by other thoughts or forcing to stop thoughts, which leads to face overthinking. This affect the natural flow of thoughts. As thoughts are the natural creation of the Mind, and they naturally arise & move, once such natural flow effects due to force or insist over thoughts, the Mind get distracted. It leads the Mind to get wild and starts to create more thoughts one after one. Once more & more thoughts starts to arise in the Mind, obviously, overthinking occurs. Such situation occurs when no Mindfulness is there in the Mind.

But, in Mindfulness, the Mind has the ability to keep itself in awards & observation without any judgement. As no judgement over thoughts, the Mind is engaged with thoughts. The Mind doesn’t’t force or insist over thoughts. As a result, natural flow of thoughts never affect. The Mind only act as an observer by being aware & observe silently. In such situation, the Mind is always in the state of calmness. No distraction or no wildness are in the Mind. Naturally, thoughts starts to slow down from the Mind. Overthinking also reduce naturally.

The Mind can understand the Source of overthinking in Mindfulness:

Keep continue to be aware of thoughts and also observing thoughts without any judgement, the Mind can understand that more & more thoughts are the cause of overthinking. The Mind can also understand that the Mind is the source of all thoughts. If less thoughts, there is no over thinking. If thoughts become more & more on a particular issue or topic or subject or anything, that continuous thoughts create overthinking situation in the Mind. In fact, overthinking occurs or happens while the Mind is not aware of thoughts & not observe thoughts.

When the Mind understands that thoughts are natural creation of the Mind and all thoughts also disappear in the Mind too, the can understand that overthinking is the lack or awareness of thoughts as well no observation of thoughts. While understand this, the Mind naturally become aware of itself to stop overthinking & keep continue to be aware of thoughts & observe them without any judgement so that creation of thoughts slow down which leads to reduce overthinking.

Accepting the reality of thoughts slowly reduce overthinking in Mindfulness:

As no judgement of anything, whatever consequences arise or happen, the Mind has the ability to face and also to accept. Hence, thoughts arise, move & disappear without any interruption. Whatever consequences are there, the Mind only acknowledge and accept and let them go. In fact, in such situation, the Mind only remains itself to be aware & observation without any judgement. Slowly & gradually, the Mind lose its interest to create more & more thoughts which mostly distracts the Mind to create overthinking.

Over thinking occurs while the Mind is not aware of all its movement. As the Mind is aware of its own movement & own creation, the Mind can understand that continuous creation of thoughts usually creates more & more distraction of the Mind unconsciously and leading to face overthinking. So, the Mind starts to reduce thoughts and subsequently, over thinking also going to reduce.

Conclusion:

In Mindfulness, being aware of thinking & observing thoughts without any judgement, the Mind can understand that thoughts only get active & powerful to get the Mind to engage with them in case of judgement made over them by the Mind. As no judgement is there over thoughts by the Mind, thoughts usually become inactive and momentary. The true or real nature of thoughts which leads to create overthinking that totally understand by the Mind in Mindfulness.

Uncovering the true or real nature of thoughts, like source of thoughts, power of thoughts, duration of thoughts, etc., the Mind naturally put itself in a position to reduce to thoughts to avoid distraction of overthinking.
